Our Dalgety Bay project has involved several challenging aspects, including the delivery and installation of large precast Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) sections.
Each section weighs around 5 tonnes, and due to the steep access road, a standard lorry could not safely transport the units down to the work area. A tractor and trailer were therefore used to carefully deliver each section to site.
Our new 35-tonne CAT 335 excavator is then used to lift and accurately position the precast units. The installation requires close coordination between the excavator operator, lifting team and groundworkers to maintain safe working practices throughout.
Despite the challenging access, ground conditions and heavy lifting operations, careful planning and teamwork have kept the works progressing safely and efficiently.
